BECO Society

We are a group of students that are passionate about behavioural sciences and their application in a business context to influence attitudes and behaviour. Our committee came together this summer to engage with this topic together, find others with the same interests and apply what we have learned about behavioural sciences in a real-world context. We function on a non-profit basis and are an official society recognized by the University of Manchester Student Union. Currently, we have 40+ official members, with a high number of AMBS students. We provide students with a platform to network, socialise, engage with and expand their knowledge in the fields of consumer behaviour, behavioural economics, organizational behaviour and other similar areas.

We love to create events for students to socialise and interact with each other whilst having fun. From eating, ice-skating to creating useful workshops for your future career paths - we want to create a community of support for everyone! Manchester Business Society

The Manchester Business Society is the fastest-growing business and finance society in Manchester. Our aim is to educate, enrich, and connect passionate students, giving them the foundations to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. We continue to equip students with the necessary skills and professional connections, by offering a range of networking opportunities, workshops, and memorable events.

Management Society (ManSoc) is run by AMBS students for anyone with an interest in business, now or later. The society has well-established links with employers and offers members the opportunity to network with leading firms, such as PwC, Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG and L’Oreal just to name a few. Through corporate events such as internship/graduate workshops, members are encouraged and assisted to build their business acumen. Equally, the society aims to integrate its members into the wider business and university community, running trophy winning Rugby, Football and Netball teams, regular sold-out socials and domestic and international trips, as well as providing its members with perks and benefits throughout Manchester.

As one of the largest business societies on campus, MUTIS runs finance-themed events throughout the year and assists students in securing internships and graduate roles at pre-eminent financial institutions. By leveraging the experience of our senior members and our extensive alumni network we can successfully guide our members through highly competitive application processes at major investment banks, asset managers, accounting and professional services firms. We operate on a free membership basis and welcome students from all backgrounds regardless of their prior market knowledge or experience. We seek to connect those who not only have a passion for the financial markets, but also a strong commitment to support fellow members in broadening their knowledge.

We also have the following Alliance MBS sporting teams:

AMBS Football Society

The AMBS 11-aside football team play every Wednesday afternoon, as well as some Saturday fixtures, in the Campus Sport Manchester leagues and cup, playing against other schools/societies across UoM. The team also trains once a week in preparation for matches. Over the years, we have had a great squad of players and will be striving for promotion again this season. Joining the team is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and is a great way to take a break from studies.

AMBS Rugby Society

AMBS Rugby Society is a campus team who play regularly against other schools (including Physics, Medics and Law) in a competitive league styled competition.

The Rugby Society is currently inactive - if you'd like to get involved, please email

Netball society

Alliance MBS Netball team is a great way to keep fit and meet people on your course! It is open to all AMBS students. We train together once a week and have matches throughout the year, with various fun and social activities too! As well as this, there is an opportunity to participate in a tournament at the end of the year.

If you are interested in joining any of the above, please contact the Undergraduate Team in 2.091, AMBS and they will provide contact details for the team captains.
