Accounting Society Manchester strives to enhance our members’ employability and equip them with knowledge of companies of different sizes. We serves as a platform to connect our members with employers. Our members are provided with invaluable industry insights and saw development in soft skills. This year, we have successfully organised several large-scale events. A welcome dinner is held every year for students to network. Various office tours are held, allowing students to find out the career opportunities such as graduate schemes and internship programs. ASM partnered with Bright Future Manchester and ICAEW again to organise an annual big-scale business challenge in the North Region of the UK.
The ITMB society is an undergraduate student led group dedicated to cultivating and promoting the interests of students studying Information Technology Management for Business at the University of Manchester. The central purpose of the society is to connect, develop and encourage collegiality amongst its members to foster a strong sense of community. We are a group of students that are passionate about behavioural sciences and their application in a business context to influence attitudes and behaviour. Our committee came together this summer to engage with this topic together, find others with the same interests and apply what we have learned about behavioural sciences in a real-world context. We function on a non-profit basis and are an official society recognized by the University of Manchester Student Union. Currently, we have 40+ official members, with a high number of AMBS students. We provide students with a platform to network, socialise, engage with and expand their knowledge in the fields of consumer behaviour, behavioural economics, organizational behaviour and other similar areas.
With branches in more than 30 universities, Bright Futures Society is an industry-leading consultancy in the fields of graduate recruitment, graduate scheme implementation, internships, on-campus engagement and improving graduate employability. The society organizes a lot of unique and useful events such as mock assessment centres, interview workshops, career insights opportunities and many others, which give a deeper insight into companies’ requirements to perspective employees. We aim to create a better relationship between companies and students and improve students’ network and employability. We work closely with large recruiters such as Barclays, Ernst & Young, Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, RBS, Rolls-Royce, TESCO, PwC, Nestle, Siemens, Vodafone, Teach First, etc.
The Business Accounting Society established by BSc Business Accounting students aims to act as a network for all years to form connections, with the society promoting networking with older and younger years, attending socials put on by the committee and acting as a guide when needing support during the busy year! We hope this society allows all students to feel part of a bigger community in Manchester and encourage all students to join.

The newly re-branded Manchester Business Society is the fastest-growing and one of the largest business and finance societies in Manchester. At our core, our aim is to positively elevate Manchester. We will achieve this by educating, enriching, and connecting passionate students, giving them the foundations to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. Management Society (ManSoc) is run by AMBS students for anyone with an interest in business, now or later. The society has well-established links with employers and offers members the opportunity to network with leading firms, such as PwC, Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG and L’Oreal just to name a few. Through corporate events such as internship/graduate workshops, members are encouraged and assisted to build their business acumen. Equally, the society aims to integrate its members into the wider business and university community, running trophy winning Rugby, Football and Netball teams, regular sold-out socials and domestic and international trips, as well as providing its members with perks and benefits throughout Manchester.
We also have the following Alliance MBS sporting teams:
The AMBS 11-aside football team play every Wednesday afternoon, as well as some Saturday fixtures, in the Campus Sport Manchester leagues and cup, playing against other schools/societies across UoM. The team also trains once a week in preparation for matches. Over the years, we have had a great squad of players and will be striving for promotion again this season. Joining the team is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and is a great way to take a break from studies.
Alliance MBS Netball team is a great way to keep fit and meet people on your course! It is open to all AMBS students. We train together once a week and have matches throughout the year, with various fun and social activities too! As well as this, there is an opportunity to participate in a tournament at the end of the year.
If you are interested in joining any of the above, please contact the Undergraduate Team in 2.091, AMBS and they will provide contact details for the team captains.
